A tapping of maple trees,
Some as old as the area
itself, has been a tradition in Cortland County from the
days of Indian culture.
Through the
years, maple syrup production has provided income
for area farmers,
and has grown with the times
and the increasing technology.

The Maple Festival is made
possible by :
The
combined efforts of some 1000 people,many organizations,
public bodies, and the school .
It
is truly a civic event which has made the entire concept a "fun
project" to work on.
